Invisalign Treatment Process

Step 1 Invisalign initial consultation with an Invisalign expert

Step 1: Initial consultation

You will come to our Oakleigh clinic, where your dentist will determine if you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign treatment. You and your dentist will also look at the range of treatment options and agree on which one is most effective to allow you to achieve your goals of a new smile and straight teeth.

Step 2 Invisalign digital 3D scan with intraoral scanner

Step 2: Assessment & 3D imaging

During this stage, your dentist will undertake 3D imaging. You will be able to see what your teeth should look like after treatment. We will send the imaging to the global Invisalign centre so their technicians can make your customised series of invisible clear braces.

Step 3 Receive your Invisalign clear braces to beging orthodontic treatment

Step 3: Receive your Invisalign clear braces

We will receive your set of Invisalign clear aligners from the global manufacturing centre. Our friendly reception team will arrange a time for you to come to our Oakleigh dental clinic to have your first set fitted to your teeth.

Step 4 Regular Invisalign check-ups and new set of Invisalign aligners

Step 4: Regular check-ups & new aligners

Depending on the length of your treatment, expect to come to our Oakleigh clinic every 4-6 weeks to have regular check-ups. You will also receive your next set of clear aligners at these appointments.

Getting the best Invisalign results

We recommend you wear your Invisalign clear braces day and night except when eating, brushing or flossing. Wearing the aligners 22 hours a day means you can achieve their maximum benefits. Your new aligner product shouldn’t change your existing dental care routine – keep up with your regular brushing and flossing. Our dental team will show you how to maintain your aligners – gently wash and brush your aligners every night.

How to get the most out of your Invisalign treatment?

  • attend your regularly scheduled check-up appointments to analyse progress and fit your next set of aligners
  • wear your set of clear braces for 22 hours a day
  • wear each set of aligners as directed by your dentist.
