Traditional fixed metal braces
Traditional fixed metal braces are still sometimes necessary to correct complex orthodontic issues. They are more accurate than other orthodontic options because every tooth can be individually controlled.
Contrary to the ‘metal-mouth’ that most people imagine when they think of braces, modern braces are smaller and less noticeable than in the past. They are also cheaper than clear or tooth-coloured wires, or Invisalign.
Will I need a retainer after my braces?
A retainer must be worn after any orthodontic treatment to keep your teeth straight and looking their best. These can either be removable, a fixed wire bonded or glued onto the back of the front six teeth, or a combination of both. Retention is for life. The longer you would like straight teeth, the longer you wear the retainer.
